We use real 18k Yellow Gold & Rhodium/Palladium Plating on all of our jewellery. Our base metals include 925 Sterling Silver, 316L Surgical Grade Stainless Steel and Brass. Solid Gold is also available on request. All of our jewellery is put through rigorous testing before, during and after production to ensure the highest level of quality and durability. We meet all regulations set by the Jewelers Vigilance Committee.
Vermeil is a term used to describe high quality jewellery that must meet the following standards:
1. The base metal is 925 sterling silver.
2. The gold karat must be at least 12K. We utilise 14K and 18K, depending on the piece.
3. The gold must be at least 2.5 microns thick. This is much thicker than electroplating or typical gold dipped jewelry and will outlast typical gold plated items.
Jewellery should be kept dry. If your jewellery is not used frequently, keep it stored in the provided dust bag. Good storage boxes are lined with tarnish-proof fabric and have a separate space for each individual piece. If your climate is humid, place a small packet of desiccant crystals inside your storage area. Avoid storing the jewellery with rubber products. Always remove your jewellery when applying colognes, perfumes or other chemical products. Chlorine, especially at elevated temperatures, can permanently damage or discolour your gold jewellery. Gently clean your gold or vermeil jewellery with a soft polishing cloth.
Our gold plated products are finished using the same quality specifications as our vermeil jewellery. The process we use is the highest quality plating available. This process allows our gold plated jewellery to last longer than any typical gold plating you may be used to. We are constantly working to improve processes to ensure our products are the longest lasting available.
Genuine Cernucci pieces can only be bought from www.cernucci.com. There are many imitators, however, we encourage you to be careful of any website which may look the same but are in fact scam websites. Be wary of:
1. Much lower prices. This indicates a low-quality material and/or plating finish which will significantly affected the longevity and quality of the item.
2. Very long delivery times. This indicates the company is dropshipping which will leave you waiting for months to receive your item directly from a factory.
3. Unclear return policies. Dropshipping websites make it very difficult to return your item and will often request that you return it to China which can be costly and risky.
There will be no custom/import fees for anybody in the UK, EU, Australia, Norway or Switzerland. When the recipient is outside of these regions, they are responsible for assuring the product can be imported into the destination country.
The recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are imposed once a shipment reaches the recipient's country.
Customs, duties, and taxes are non-refundable: so, a shipment that is refused because of unexpected import fees, the cost of the total order including original shipping and any return shipping charges will not be refunded. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for more information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates. Normal customs clearance is 1 business day.
To avoid a delay in receiving your order from customs, we strongly suggest:
- Providing a phone number where you can be reached by customs when your product arrives. This phone number will be listed on the commercial invoice so customs can reach you to clear your order.
- Please do not refuse a shipment or ignore requests from carriers regarding duty and/or tax liability charges. Be aware that most carriers will hold a shipment for 5 days after arrival in your country before they abandon or return it to the sender.
You can log into your account through our online store and check the fulfilment status of your recent order.

Cernucci was founded in 2018 by half British, half Brazilian fashion enthusiast Fred Buckley.
Fred wanted to wear jewellery which he couldn’t find anywhere online. With inspiration from London’s fashion scene, hip hop music and urban culture, he began designing pieces which he and his friends could wear. A lot of people around him started really liking the jewellery which gave him the idea to make it public and open up an Instagram account. The journey started there.
